How to Send SMS to an ATT Cell

Send SMS From a Cell Phone
1. Open your SMS application on your cell phone. A text message box will load.
2. Type the person's AT&T 10-digit cell phone number into the 'To:' field of the text message box.
3. Type the message into the text message box, not exceeding 160 characters for an AT&T cell phone.
4. Tap 'Send.' The SMS will arrive in a few moments to the person's AT&T cell phone.
Send SMS From an Email Account
5. Open your email account on your computer or cell phone, if applicable.
6. Click on the symbol to write a new email.
7. Type the person's AT&T cell phone's email address into the 'Recipient' field of the email. The email address will be the 10-digit cell phone number followed by @text.att.net. (number@text.att.net)
8. Type a short message in the body of the email, not to exceed 160 characters.
9. Click 'Send Message.' The email will arrive as an SMS message to the person's AT&T cell phone shortly. Replies will be sent to your email account.
