How Do I Unlock a Motorola Mobile Phone for Free?

1. Call your current service provider and request the subsidy unlock code. Explain to the customer service representative you speak with that you plan to utilize your Motorola device with another carrier. The representative will obtain some information from you about the device (such as its serial number) and will then send Motorola a request for the unlock code. Unlocking your device is free, but it can take up to 14 days to receive the necessary code by email, so leave yourself plenty of time.
2. Follow the unlock instructions contained in the email to prompt your Motorola device to ask for the unlock code. For GSM-type devices, this is as simple as inserting a SIM card from another carrier and turning on the device. For CDMA-type devices, you must enter a special numeric string (provided in the email) to prompt the device to ask for the unlock code.
3. Enter the subsidy unlock code. Once your Motorola device asks for the unlock code, be careful to enter it exactly as shown in the email you received from your carrier. A confirmation message will then appear onscreen, indicating that the phone has been unlocked.

  1. Yes. It is very simple to get the unlock code from the network provider. But it is not possible in all cases. Network providers doesn't provide unlock code easily before the contract expires. In such cases, unlock code can be obtained from any trusted third party service. I too got the unlock code for my mobile phone from a third party service. I got the unlock code from ProUnlocking.Com at affordable cost with easy unlocking guide. It was very useful for me.
