How to Send an SMS to a Landline

1. Open the messaging feature on your cellphone.
2. Type in the person's landline phone number in the recipient box. If you already have the person's name and landline number stored in your contact list, type in that person's name and their number should come up, depending on the cellphone.
3. Type the SMS message into the message box, making sure to not use any abbreviations, if possible. Press 'Send.' The recipient's phone will ring once the message has been sent. The person will hear your SMS message in a recorded voice when answering the phone or voicemail, if the person wasn't available. You will receive a text (on your cellphone) confirming the message was received by the recipient. The person will be able to reply to your message by leaving a recorded message that will be delivered to your cellphone's voicemail.
