How to Send a Fun SMS for Free

1. Select a free SMS site. Many free SMS messaging sites can be found by searching online and typically allow you to send basic messages to your destination number. Or try a site called Oh Don't Forget (http://ohdontforget.com), which provides additional options upon registering, such as reminder text messages. Some email providers, such as Yahoo!, also offer free SMS messaging services if you have an email account.
2. Input the destination number. Since many of these SMS message services have the ability to send messages to foreign cell phones, you must select or input the country code in order to properly send the message. Refer to each specific site's instructions for international codes.
3. Enter any additional information that is required. Depending on which SMS service you choose, you may be required to input additional information, such as the carrier of the destination number, or the name of who is sending the message.
4.
Your friends or family can receive messages as though they were sent from another phone.
Write your message. Type whatever you want the other person to receive, but be aware that these messages are limited in length, just as they are when you use your phone. There is usually a character counter at the bottom of the box to show how many additional characters you can still enter.
