How to Send Recive Free Text Messages

1. Log in to your email account. In the 'To' field enter the 10-digit phone number you wish to text followed by the carrier email address code. For example, if you wish to text an email to the phone number 555-123-4567 on the T-Mobile network, you would enter 5551234567@tomomail.net into your email address field. Some of the more common wireless network carrier codes are: AT&T---XXX@txt.att.net, Verizon---XXX@vtext.com, Alltel---XXX@message.alltel.com, Nextel---XXX@messaging.nextel.com, Boost---XXX@myboostmobile.com, US Cellular---XXX@email.uscc.net, Sprint PCS---XXX@messaging.sprintpcs.com, Virgin Mobile---XXX@email.vmobi.com (for complete list, see Resources). Simply replace the XXX with the 10-digit phone number you wish to email a text to.
2. Compose your text email. Text messages are usually only sent in 160 characters or less, so keep this in mind before sending your email text. A message longer than 160 characters can get cut short and not fully delivered to the cell phone you are texting.
3. Send your email. The text you included in your email will now be sent to the cell phone number you listed in the 'To' address field. When the person you text messaged replies, you will receive an email in your in-box with their response. To continue texting back and forth, simply reply to the received email in your in-box.
