How to Trace Cellular Phone Numbers for Free

1. Go to Google. Type in the cell phone number in question, with all sorts of variations. For instance, if the number you're tracing is 123-456-7890, you should search for '(123) 456-7890,' '1234567890,' '123-456-7890' or '123 456 7890.' See if the results produce any clues.
2. Go to the homepages for Facebook and MySpace and search the websites for the cell phone number. Oftentimes people will post their cell phone numbers attached to their accounts without even thinking. Simply type the phone number into the search bar.
3. Go to MobilePhoneNumber.com using your Internet browser. This is a voluntary database of people who wish for their cell phones to be listed. It probably won't find anyone who doesn't want to be found, but for more general searches it may be useful.
4. Pay a fee to use websites that will scour the Internet and other records for a given phone number. Generally, the fee is $15 to $30, depending on what information you want. Plus, the legitimate sites offer a money-back guarantee if they can't find the person you're searching for.
