How to Send a Text From a Site for Free

1. Go to the Verizon Wireless Text Message website (see References). This site is just for sending texts to Verizon Wireless numbers. You have the option of adding both your name and callback number or sending the text anonymously. You can also translate the texts into 'text language.' All messages sent via the Verizon website must be 140 characters or less.
2. Visit the Oh, Don't Forget website (see References). This basic website is for sending short text reminders to cell phone numbers. You have the option of setting a specific date and time for the message, which is convenient if you wish to send the text as a reminder for an event taking place at a later time. Character limits vary per wireless provider.
3. Use Txt Drop to send texts online (see References). An email address is necessary in order to receive responses. It's also a way for those that run the website to monitor texts that are sent from Txt Drop. This website works with wireless providers in the United States and Canada. The delivery time for text messages sent from the website varies based upon the amount of individuals using the site at that particular time.
4. Go to the Txt2Day website (see References). You need to know the person's phone number and wireless provider in order to utilize this service. Messages sent from Txt2Day can't be longer than 140 characters. Those sending a text message to a Canadian wireless number must click the 'freetxt.ca' link found directly above the 'Send It' button in order to access the Canadian messaging Web page.
