How to Use Your NDS to Send Text


Text Messaging via PictoChat
1. Turn on your Nintendo DS by pressing the switch on the side of your hand-held console. Nintendo DS Lites are also powered on this way, but the Nintendo DSi and Nintendo DSi XL models use a power button located below the directional keypad.
2. Select the 'PictoChat' icon from the main menu using your finger or the stylus pen.
3. Type out your message using the virtual keyboard on the bottom screen. Alternatively, you can also draw or write out a message with the stylus.
4. Click on the 'Send' button once complete to send your text message to other users connected to the chat room wirelessly.

5. Turn on your Nintendo DSi or Nintendo DSi XL by pressing the power button located below the directional keypad.
6. Connect your Nintendo DSi to the Internet via a wireless router. From the menu, select 'System Settings,' then 'Internet.' Press 'Connection Settings' and select the connection file of your choice, then press the 'Search For An Access Point' icon. Your Nintendo DSi will then connect to your local broadband Internet in a matter of seconds.
7. Select 'Nintendo DSi Shop' from the main menu and download the free 'Nintendo DSi Web Browser' application. Select 'Nintendo DSi Web Browser' from the main menu after the download is complete.
8. Log in to your Google Voice account from the Nintendo DSi web browser. If you do not have a Google Voice account, you can create one for free at Google.com.
9. Scroll down and select 'SMS' to bring up the text messaging service. Type in the recipient's phone number and your message, then press 'Send' to send a text message on your Nintendo DSi.
