How to Download SMS Messages From an iPhone

1. Connect your iPhone to your computer using its USB docking cable.
2. Open DiskAid and select 'Root Folder' from the drop-down menu in the lower left corner. Click 'User' in the far left column, 'Library' in the second, 'SMS' in the third and 'sms.db' in the fourth. Click 'Copy to Folder' in the upper left corner.
3. Open your hard drive. Type 'sms.db' into the search bar. Right-click the file, select 'Open With' and choose 'SQLite Database Browser.'
4. Click 'File' at the top of the screen. Move your cursor to 'Export.' A new menu appears to the right. Select 'Table as CSV file.' In the dialog box, choose 'message;' then click 'Export.' Save the file with a .csv extension, such as 'messages.csv.'
5. Open the new CSV file with Microsoft Excel or a similar spreadsheet program.
