How to Receive SMS on VoIP

1. Locate a VoIP service which offers SMS services as one of its features, as many VoIP services have yet to develop and offer this to their customers. SMS services may cost an additional monthly fee or a fee each time it is used, depending on the company you go with. A couple of credible, trustworthy VoIP services which feature SMS are available online.
2. Sign up for the VoIP service of your choice which offers SMS services. You will be given a specific VoIP number to be contacted on, just the same as a normal telephone or cell phone service provider.
3. Familiarize yourself with the VoIP program and service you have signed up for, as each program operates differently and varies widely in features. Refer to the VoIP company's official FAQ section or reference manuals when getting accustomed to the VoIP software before sending SMS messages. Once you have all of your account details set up, you can give out your custom VoIP number to your acquaintances and contacts.
4. Open your VoIP software on your computer to check your SMS messages, if you have received them from anyone. Some programs allow you to send SMS messages directly from the program, depending on the software's capabilities.
