How to Send Worldwide Text Messages Online

1. Log on to your computer's e-mail application. It is entirely acceptable to use either a dedicated desktop e-mail application or a web-based e-mail application.
2. Find the country code of the phone number you want to text. For instance, if you wanted to text someone in England from the United States, you would first enter 011 (international code), then 44 (country code) and finish with the city code and the phone number. In other words: 011-44-city code-phone number. You can access websites that provide a complete list of country codes and/or city codes.
3. In the 'TO' e-mail address field, type the full phone number. Start with the international code, then the country code, city code and finally, the phone number. Follow this with the carrier-specific text messaging e-mail address. For example, if you wanted to text from the United States to a person in London with the phone number 207-1234-5678 on the Vodafone network, you would enter 0114420712345678@vodafone.net in the address field.
4. Compose your message. It is of note that most text messages are sent in packets of no more than 160 characters. Keep this in mind when sending, because you do not want to have the end of your text message cut off.
5. Press 'Send,' and your text message will be sent to the phone number you entered. When the receiver replies, you will receive the response as an e-mail in your inbox. You can continue to communicate back and forth through text-messaging by replying to the received e-mail.
