How to Send Text Messages to Maxis Using the Internet

1. Open Skype on your desktop, then log in to your Skype account.
2. Click on 'Add a contact' at the bottom left of your Skype screen.
3. Skip the 'Email' option on the window that opens. Choose the flag and the country where the target mobile phone is located.
4. Type the phone number that you want to contact, using one of the three Maxis dialing prefix identifiers: 012, 017 or 0142. Add a name to your contact such as 'John Maxis Phone,' skip the 'Skype Name' option, and then click on the 'Add' button.
5. Click on 'Save number only' at the bottom right of the window and simply skip the matches that Skype shows you on the screen, because what you want is to send text messages to a mobile phone.
6. Close the window and go back to your Skype screen. Your new contact now appears in your contact list.
7. Right-click with your mouse, on top of your new contact's name. When the menu appears, click on 'Send SMS Message.'
8. Type your message at the bottom of the new window. Skype will show you how many characters are left before the end of your text message. When you finish typing your message, click on the 'TxT' button, at the bottom right corner. It will immediately be sent to your contact. Once it is delivered to your contact's mobile phone, Skype will display the message 'Delivered' by your name.
